T O P I C R E V I E WAnastasiyaEnchantedIf you have an amazing synastry with someone and a bad or mediocre composite and Davison chart, does the relationship tend to lean more towards the good synastry aspects or the bad Davison and composite aspects? Also, can anyone tell me what the Davison chart means? I get the composite but I am still foggy on the meaning of davisons. KeroseneI've always understood the synastry but the composite and davidson charts are really a hit or miss with me.LeocassandraComposite yes, Davison...hmm i don't think i can read it in the right way:/LilyI don't think either are more important. The Synastry is how you affect each other but the composites are how you two ARE together -- the relationship and how it will play out. Which can make it more important bc it shows the relationship instead of just how you relate to each other as people. AriesLilithI agree with Lily. Also, I prefer midpoint composite over Davison, and I also pay attention to aspects to/between midpoints in the composite charts. And we can also compare the composite with each person's natal chart to see how the relationship affects each person.filleaspirantWell, I've read somewhere (can't remember where), that synastry is how each person affects the other individually, composite is how the couple is perceived by everyone else, and Davison is how the energy of the partnership is felt by the couple.Does that make any sense?AriesLilith quote:Originally posted by filleaspirant:Well, I've read somewhere (can't remember where), that synastry is how each person affects the other individually, composite is how the couple is perceived by everyone else, and Davison is how the energy of the partnership is felt by the couple.Does that make any sense?Personally I don't agree with the comparison between composite and Davison. Symbolically speaking, composite is the chat done by calculating the midpoint positions of the planets between 2 natal charts, while Davison is calculated with the time and space midpoint between 2 charts - so why would the physical midpoints chart shows how the couple is perceived by others, while the time and space midpoints chart is the one that shows how the relationship is between the couple? Also, in my experience, midpoint composite has been very accurate in telling how the relationship is between the couple. And AC of the composite is what can show how the relationship might be perceived by others.Personally I don't use Davison, so I can't say if I'd find it accurate for my own readings or not. But just wanted to express my opinion about this. I guess that everyone should try to figure out what works better for them thought, since there are different tools available.
